“Josh, Chris and Sierra have created a community that feels like a family regardless of where you come from. It’s hard to find and easy to take for granted. I am very grateful for this place and for the people in it.”

“My experience at DCS has made me who I am today. I started ballet about a year and a half ago and I have seen so much improvement in myself and the others in my classes. The environment is always so friendly and welcoming. The teachers are incredible and so caring, they always encourage me to push myself and be my best self. I have met some of my best friends dancing here and I am so excited for my future at DCS. I always have so much fun in class, making new friends and getting to know lots of new people. DCS is an amazing place for dancing, learning and meeting kind encouraging people.”

-DCS Student

“As a parent, I can’t say enough amazing things about DCS. As a former dancer and dance educator, I feel exactly the same. The technique and curriculum offered here is nothing short of impeccable. What’s amazing is that this high level of quality is absolutely matched with true thoughtfulness and awareness towards the student and dancer as a human. And that is truly precious.”

Beginning, Intermediate, & Advanced Level Program for Ages 11-17:

Our Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced program caters to ages 11-17 and is designed to cultivate well-rounded dancers through a structured curriculum. Trainees participate in 3-5 ballet technique classes per week, along with pointe work, jazz, and contemporary classes. Students are placed in Levels 2-5 based on age, experience, and ability, ensuring appropriate challenge and growth. We adhere to a progressive and rigorous approach, beginning with Level 2 for 11-year-old dancers and advancing through to Level 5. Each level incrementally increases in difficulty, preparing students for future progressions or a professional career in dance. Our curriculum integrates teaching principles from all techniques of ballet. Emphasis is placed on understanding anatomy, kinetics, coordination, and alignment. We prioritize precision, clarity, and musicality, fostering the ability to quickly learn combinations and implement corrections effectively. Pointe work is strongly encouraged, and advanced dancers are encouraged to achieve proficiency in training fully en pointe. They wear pointe shoes for various technique classes, classical variations, and partnering exercises. We offer many performance opportunities throughout our season. Placement and roles are determined by the Co-artistic Directors and students must attend all required classes and rehearsals in order to participate.
