THE MISSION of Dance Theatre Seattle (DTS) is to inform and shape both dancers and audiences by removing barriers which promote exclusivity in ballet and fostering an open-minded platform for dance. Creating a space of honest inclusivity, DTS believes that ballet can grow in tandem with all other forms of dance while preserving its technical foundation. If ballet does not learn how to be relevant in the world of modern day dance, it runs the risk of becoming obsolete. Our purpose is to allow ballet to reflect on its culturally biased history, learn from it, and guide itself through the twenty-first century.

THE VISION of Dance Theatre Seattle is to become a leading cultural institution recognized for artistic innovation, educational excellence, and community engagement in the field of ballet, creating opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to experience and participate in the transformative power of dance. Dance Theatre Seattle, aims to promote and preserve the art of ballet while providing accessible dance education and performances to the community. Over the next five years, we plan to expand our reach, enhance our programming, and strengthen our financial sustainability to ensure the long-term success and impact of our organization.
