Dorienne Raynolds has built a striking dual career as a clothing designer and dancer/dance teacher. Born and raised in Spokane, WA, she began dancing at a young age with her mom, training in the Royal Academy of Dancing syllabus. Dorie completed all RAD major examinations with honors, including the prestigious Solo Seal performance. She then pursued her BA in Dance at the University of Washington, performing with the Chamber Dance Company for three of her four years. During this time, she had the opportunity to perform works by renowned choreographers Zvi Gotheiner, Doris Humphrey, Lar Lubovitch, and Vaslav Nijinsky, and collaborated closely with faculty members Hannah Wiley, Jim Lepore, Rebeeca, Malcolm, Betsy Cooper, Maria Simpson, and Rob Kitsos.Throughout her teen and college years, Dorie attended summer programs with Alberta Ballet, Royal Academy of Dance, and various workshops throughout the northwest, California, New York, and Canada. She danced professionally in Seattle and New York working with notable choreographers Wade Madsen, Rob Kitsos and Corrie Befort while also creating her own work. Dorie performed in Northwest New Works, 12 Minutes Max, Independent performances, and dance films.

Her passion for creativity extended beyond the stage, leading her to pursue a degree in Apparel Design. Dorie has since had a successful career in design, working with prominent companies like Brooks, Outdoor Research, FootJoy, Cutter & Buck, and currently, Radmor Golf.  In addition to her design career, Dorie has been a dedicated dance teacher for over 15 years, sharing her love of movement with students of all ages. She has taught ballet, pointe, conditioning, tap, creative movement, and modern at institutions such as West Seattle Performing Arts, Cornish College of the Arts Preparatory Program, and Velocity.

Dorie is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to perform with Dance Theatre Seattle.  She never thought she'd be back on stage at this stage in life, but thanks to Josh and Chrissy, she’s proving herself wrong—and loving every minute of it!
